Businesses, Schools & Organizations get UP!

Here’s what UPonGREEN (”UP”) accomplishes for all businesses, organizations, schools, churches, government operations, associations (we use the word 'organization' to represent all operational entities of society other than individuals and households):

1. UPonGREEN's 14-Point Criteria:  UP has created a baseline of simple yet meaningful EPA recommended ‘green’ practices that all members of society can and should achieve.  Achieving a minimum of 9 actions is required to be featured on UPonGREEN's website.  View the organization Criteria and an example of a Criteria & Eco-Profile from a organization that is UPonGREEN:  Wild Harvest Organic

2.  Read financial and eco benefits of each action:  UPonGREEN's Criteria application page displays the financial and environmental "Benefits" of each action to help your organization understand the importance and value of achieving that action.  Click on the Benefits and Resources Buttons that are along side of each Criteria on the application.

3.  See Organizations that can help you achieve each action:  UPonGREEN's Criteria application page also displays "Resources" to help your organization achieve that action. These resources are organizations that are UPonGREEN members that provide a solution to help your organization achieve that action.  This is free information to help you.   Click on the Benefits and Resources Buttons that are along side of each Criteria on the application.

4. UP provides a membership opportunity if you choose to meet the UP Criteria. With the UP membership, your organization can order UP identifiers to publicly display which specifically bullet point your organization's environmental actions and that you are a member of a national consumer-awareness initiative called UPonGREEN.

5. If your organization is embracing these practices, has joined UP, and is displaying the UP identifiers at entrances, near cash registers, on product packaging, and in the organization’s marketing materials and website, it is being proven that consumers are responding very favorably. We have documented testimonials from our members that customers are even switching loyalties to support their organization for participating in this "United Plan for Progress".  UPonGREEN is proving to be a market share driver.

6. When you are an UP member, consumers can also go to www.upongreen.com to search for your organization’s Criteria responses and pledge. Additionally, consumers are welcome to leave a comment for your organization online, similar to popular online rating systems. (Note: Measures are in place to prevent abuse of the comment forum,  preventing internet flaming or malicious and unfounded negative comments).

7. An organization will never lose a customer because they operate more eco-responsibly; however, with a more educated consumer, organizations will soon be at risk of losing market share and revenues if they aren’t embracing at a minimum, basic ‘green’ practices. UPonGREEN is here to help organizations who are doing their part, connect with customers. And UPonGREEN is here to help inspire organizations that haven‘t yet recognized the importance of being more ‘green’ to 'get UPonGREEN'.

8. At no time will a member’s confidential/personal information be sold, traded or used publicly.  When individuals and households get UPonGREEN, their Criteria and Eco-Profile remain private unless they choose to share it with others. Privacy Policy

Individuals, households and consumers get UP!

Here’s what UPonGREEN accomplishes for consumers, individuals and families:

1. UPonGREEN (”UP”) helps consumers identify organizations that are operating eco-responsibly. Organizations that are UPonGREEN commit to meeting certain ‘green’ standards in their operations to qualify for the UP membership and to be eligible to use the UP identifiers. Therefore, consumers can look for the UP identifiers located at entrances, near cash registers, on product packaging and in marketing materials of organizations to see specifically what a organization is doing to be UPonGREEN.

2. Consumers can also go to www.upongreen.com to search for a organization name. If the organization is an UP member, the consumer can read the organization's detailed Criteria (example of Mall of America's criteria) responses and their Eco-Profile. If a organization is not UP, the consumer can send that organization an UP'vite encouraging them to get UPonGREEN.

3. In addition to the benefits of UPonGREEN in the marketplace, UP also simplifies the basic yet measurable practices of living more ‘green’ at home.  Individuals and families can get UPonGREEN by meeting the 'people's' Criteria and registering as part of the solution with UPonGREEN.  It's free and meaningful!  Click her to see a simple tutorial

6. UP provides a free membership opportunity for individuals and families who choose to complete the UP Criteria. With the UP membership, people can order UP identifiers for their homes and round UP stickers for their cars to let everyone know what they are doing specifically to make a difference.

7. When individuals and households get UPonGREEN their Criteria and Eco-Profile are private, unless they choose to share it with others.   Individual and household members can add an UP'Link to their Facebook which lets their friends and familly know that they are UPonGREEN and allows them to click directly through to the individual's Criteria and Eco-Profile.  Privacy Policy.

8. Ultimately, we believe that the easier ‘green’ is for everyone, the more successful the movement will be and the more progress there will be.  If we can help simplify and identify ‘green’ in the marketplace, more organizations and consumers will join in and expedite change.
